Charmaine Sheh and Pat Ha’s On-Screen Faceoff: Plotting to Become a Producer

TV Queen Charmaine Sheh (Ah Sheh) just finished filming the major series "The Queen of News 2" and quickly headed to Malaysia to cash in. Recently, Oriental Daily exclusively captured her filming with her on-screen "archnemesis" foster mother Pat Ha and Samantha Ko on the streets of Central, Hong Kong. The duel between two generations of "powerful queens" sparked with intensity. With years of acting experience, Charmaine openly admitted that she wants to challenge herself in other areas at this stage and hopes to produce a suspense drama herself.

Working with Pat Ha for the first time, Charmaine says their clashes are like Mars colliding with Earth, arguing at the drop of a hat onscreen. However, they actually cooperate happily off-camera. In an interview, Charmaine said: “I’ve watched her performances since I was young and already thought she was so cool. This woman has personality. I never thought we’d get to work together—she really fits this role.”

As for Pat Ha, talking about her first collaboration with Charmaine, she said she is very happy and gave Charmaine high praise: “She is a TV Queen. Working with her lets me learn a lot. In my mind, she’s a ‘machine woman’—I admire her!” She added that besides Charmaine, it’s also her first time working with many others in the cast, including Samantha Ko, Kenneth Ma, Bosco Wong, and Katy Kung, bringing a fresh and challenging experience. Though filming has been tough, it’s all been worth it.

With extensive acting experience spanning years, Charmaine admitted she has considered producing herself. She explained: “If there’s an opportunity, I really want to try. Being an actor is very passive. Instead of waiting for someone to start a project, why not do it myself? That way, I can challenge different fields, but it’s still just in the very early stages.” Asked if she has a dream script in mind, she replied: “I like suspense dramas—hopefully something brand new and original, so it brings freshness.”
