Taiwanese celebrity Huang Zitao was accused of purchasing child and adolescent obscene videos on the 'Creative Private House' forum. In the first trial, he was sentenced to 8 months in prison. On the 24th, Huang Zitao issued a statement apologizing again and stated that he had reached settlements with all victims. On the 25th, the Taiwan High Court announced its verdict in the second trial, sentencing Huang Zitao to 1 year and 6 months, suspended for 4 years.
Regarding Huang Zitao's involvement in the case, the first trial determined that there were 35 child and adolescent victims, and 2,259 sexual images involved. However, the first trial returned 12 victims whose identities were unknown and who did not report the crime, along with 586 other sexual image files, to prosecutors. The prosecutors believed that Huang Zitao's possession of sexual images of these 12 victims was still legally connected to the current case and transferred them to the High Court for further trial.
The High Court has previously arranged several mediations between the victims and Huang Zitao. In the first verdict, 35 victims whose cases resulted in a guilty verdict were involved, with 2 of them unable to achieve mediation or settlement. As for the additional cases brought forward by the prosecution, many of the victims were unidentifiable, making mediation or settlement impossible. However, on the 24th, Huang Zitao claimed publicly that he had reached settlements with all victims. #
