(Kuching, 23rd) The 2025 Sarawak Harvest and Folklore Festival (SHFF) will be celebrated with colorful festivities, showcasing the rich and diverse culture of Sarawak while providing a platform for the younger generation to exhibit their talents in the fields of arts, music, and handicrafts.
The Sarawak Cultural Village will once again take center stage as SHFF makes a grand return from May 24 to 25, injecting vitality into Kuching.
Supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak (MCTP) and the Malaysian Tourism Board, SHFF aims to strengthen Sarawak's position as a major cultural tourism destination in the region.
With the theme "Celebrating Heritage, Inspiring the Future," this year's festival is expected to attract more visitors from all walks of life.
One of the highlight events of this SHFF is the musical "Rentap: Battle of Bukit Sadok."
This musical tells the story of the warrior Rentap resisting colonizers and defending his homeland, starring talented artists such as Anding Indrawani, Melissa Francis, and Nique Jensen.
In addition, the event includes a "Peace Rhythm" concert that combines traditional melodies with modern music; Culturalvaganza cultural and ethnic performances; interactive workshops; traditional games; and a food and beverage festival.
Even more exciting is that all events are free of charge.
To facilitate visitor access, the organizers have specially provided free shuttle bus services from the Kuching Stadium and Riverside Majestic Hotel, operating from 9 AM to 1 AM.
Furthermore, a dedicated bus line from Damai Golf and Country Club will offer round-trip services at 5 MYR per person.
SHFF 2025 is not only a celebration of arts and culture but also provides a platform for local artists, handicraft vendors, and food and beverage operators to showcase and promote their products.
This event aligns with Dato Sri Abdul Karim's vision of making Sarawak a cultural and arts hub that attracts both domestic and international tourists.
Currently, more than 22,000 free passes have been distributed, and the public response to this SHFF has been enthusiastic.
The organizers believe that the festival will not only further promote Sarawak's cultural heritage but also foster unity among the state's multi-ethnic communities.
Don't miss Sarawak’s largest cultural festival this year. Join us in this cultural feast!
