Former member of Korean boy group “U-KISS”, Dongho (real name Shin Dongho), who left the entertainment industry 13 years ago, married a non-celebrity girlfriend A and had a child. After three years of marriage, the couple went their separate ways. Eight years post-divorce, conflict between the two erupted again, with the ex-wife accusing Dongho of infidelity, domestic violence, and failure to pay child support. Dongho denied all allegations and threatened legal action. Unwilling to back down, the ex-wife publicly revealed what appears to be screenshots of their chat records, accusing Dongho of forcing their 10-year-old son into prostitution and shocking netizens by stating: “I’ll reveal the names of the members who engaged in sex acts with Dongho,” sparking heated discussion.
Now 31 years old, Dongho’s family dispute surfaced after 8 years of divorce. Yesterday, he posted on Instagram to deny all of ex-wife A’s allegations: “I’ve never cheated, visitation, child support, abuse—these are all fabricated. I will sue for spreading rumors and defamation,” and stated he would take legal action against his ex-wife. In response, A posted: “Wow, you’re saying all of this is a lie? Are you crazy? Fine, we’ll see about that! Please, sue me. I’ll reveal the names of the members who engaged in sex acts with Dongho.”
A added: “I never received child support. As for you hitting the child, I will come forward with the child and have him interviewed by reporters to tell the truth. Regarding child support, you can verify my account and my mother’s account. I’ll make it public. What gives you the right to be so self-righteous? I’m already taking legal action and will not be lenient. I also have a recording of a call with Dongho’s mother, who apologized to me about the abuse; I’ll make that public too.”
Facing Dongho’s outright denial, A lost her patience and published screenshots from the messaging app Kakao Talk. The user, displaying Dongho’s photo, sent messages such as “You can teach a bar girl well enough with money,” and, “Give him 3 condoms,” with A annotating, “He said he wanted to make our son engage in prostitution.” A emphasized that she’s raising her son alone, and even when Dongho visited their son, she never took a cent from him: “My friends have known for a long time that I never took a penny from Shin Dongho for letting him see his son, and they know he never paid any support. There was absolutely no subsidy. I’m only now seeing how low and vicious men get when they get older.”
Dongho left U-KISS in 2013, effectively leaving the entertainment industry. He married A, who is a year older, in 2015, welcomed their son the following year, but the marriage ended three years later, culminating in divorce in 2018. After becoming single again, Dongho moved to Japan to work as a DJ and in business, and even appeared at U-KISS’ 15th anniversary fan meeting in 2023. Now, his personal affairs have once again surfaced.
