(Bandar Seri Begawan, 24th) Professor Pan Yanqin, Director of the Brunei Research Institute at Guangxi University for Nationalities, and research assistant Liang Sijiang, accompanied by institute advisor Shen Renxiang, visited the capital's Chung Hwa School to gain further insight and understanding into the operations, development, and funding maintenance of private schools in Brunei.
During the research visit, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Chung Hwa School Board Chairperson Lü Shiyun, Board Supervisor Zheng Shijuan, the principal, and teachers and students. They celebrated the Spring Festival together with kindergarten students, watched performances by young children, and participated in activities such as making traditional red envelopes.
Through onsite investigation and understanding, they recognized how private schools in Brunei operate and develop, and how they maintain operations, progress, and growth without external funding support. They were impressed by the perseverance and outstanding dedication of private schools and their contribution to the nation’s education.
In addition to government-sponsored public schools, Brunei has dozens of private schools that, in various fields and regions, contribute silently to the country’s development.
