(Bandar Seri Begawan, 21st) Brunei, through its Tourism Development Department (under the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism), recently participated in the three-day NATAS 2026 Travel Fair held in Singapore from March 27 to 29, 2026.
As a consumer-oriented tourism exhibition, the main purpose of Brunei’s participation was to interact directly with Singaporean tourists, raise destination awareness, promote immediate bookings, and position Brunei as an ideal short-haul holiday destination. The Tourism Development Department led a delegation of Brunei tourism industry stakeholders to showcase travel experiences designed for families, couples, students, and special interest travelers seeking meaningful and authentic journeys.
At the 2026 NATAS Travel Fair organized by the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (NATAS), the Brunei pavilion displayed a rich variety of tourism experiences, from tropical rainforest adventures and mangrove river tours at Ulu Temburong National Park, to highlights of Islamic culture such as unique Ramadan festivities at iconic mosques, and authentic culinary journeys across Brunei’s four districts.

To establish Brunei as a regional hub for educational tourism, the pavilion also highlighted a series of student-centered featured programs. These included immersive learning journeys covering environmental studies, Islamic heritage, and cultural exchanges, aiming to meet the demand from Singaporean schools and institutions for safe, convenient, and high-value overseas study experiences.
During the exhibition, Brunei introduced a range of exclusive travel packages to encourage immediate bookings. These included Royal Brunei Airlines’ “Brunei Fly & Stay Holiday Package” (3 days 2 nights); Darussalam Services Company’s 5-day 4-night Brunei Educational Study Tour; Gufran Travel Agency’s Brunei Exploration Package; AZ Back To Nature’s 4-day 4-night Brunei Highlights Tour; Hasa Incentives’ one-day Ulu Temburong National Park Adventure; Bonasia Holiday’s 4-day 3-night Brunei Educational Tour; and Freme Travel Services’ 3-day 2-night Muslim Experience Package, among others.
In addition, customized itineraries focusing on eco-adventures, Islamic tourism, and student programs were also offered to cater to different travel interests.

After the exhibition, the Tourism Development Department organized a B2B networking session with Singaporean educational institutions under the Ministry of Education. This meeting provided a communication platform for several Brunei travel agency representatives and representatives from the Brunei Ministry of Education, and was held at the High Commission of Brunei in Singapore.
This event also aimed to advance cooperation in the educational tourism sector. Supported by the High Commission of Brunei in Singapore, the meeting echoed Brunei's recent participation in the 2026 NATAS travel fair, as part of the nation’s ongoing efforts to establish itself as an educational tourism destination.
This exchange marked an important step in strengthening cooperation and promoting Brunei as a preferred educational tourism destination for university students.

Singapore remains one of Brunei’s top ten air travel source markets, alongside other major regional markets. In 2025, Brunei received 22,781 Singaporean visitors.
From January to February 2026, Brunei recorded 2,301 inbound air travelers, showing a positive growth trend compared to 2,257 during the same period in 2025.
The Tourism Development Department continues to actively promote Brunei, not only in Singapore but also in several new markets opened this year. To this end, Brunei is about to appoint international marketing representatives and set up international marketing offices in certain markets; cooperation programs with online travel agencies are being planned; and in the coming months, Brunei will arrange familiarization trips for travel agencies and opinion leaders to boost destination awareness and promote sustained tourism industry growth.
