(Miri, 29th) In conjunction with the 20th anniversary of Miri becoming a city, the 20th "Miri City Day Blood Donation Event" will be held this Saturday (3rd May) from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at MYY Mall Lutong, and the public is encouraged to actively participate and give a gift of life.

This annual blood donation event is not only a good deed that extends life but also symbolizes the progress and development Miri has achieved over 20 years of city status. The event is organized in collaboration with multiple organizations, including the Miri Indian Association, Miri Piasau Community Welfare Association, Miri Petroleum Women’s Association, Miri City Caring Society, Inner Wheel Club of Miri, and Miri Punjabi Association.

Pandang Semat, Political Secretary to the Chief Minister of Sarawak and Advisor for the Miri City Caring Society, stated that this event brings together multiple community organizations with the common goal of encouraging the public to take positive action and generously offer help to those in need. Every portion of blood can save three lives, and every blood donor is an unsung hero.

He also revealed that Miri City Mayor YB Yii-Siew Sang will be the guest of honor at the event, emphasizing the city government's commitment to the charity event.

The Coordinating Chairman, Karambir Singh, pointed out that during the event, Miri Alpro Clinic will offer free health screenings, covering the PEKA B40 and SEHATI PERKESO programs. Additionally, a special discount on the flu vaccine is offered for only RM45. There will also be a registration counter for senior citizen health benefits, and eligible individuals are welcome to register.
