(Kuala Lumpur, 7th) The patron of the 2025/2026 Heroes Fund fundraising campaign and Prime Minister's wife, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah, pointed out that as of now, the fund has raised RM 3.5 million, surpassing the original fundraising target of RM 3 million.

She said that since the launch of the Heroes Fund fundraising campaign last August, the above sum has been successfully raised thanks to the generous contributions from all sectors.

"We have raised over RM 3.5 million, but with rising prices, we must readjust our target. However, what is most needed now is continuous donations to meet current needs."

She said this to reporters after attending the "My Warrior Charity Run" event today.

Wan Azizah called on the public to continue donating and to pay attention to the welfare of retired armed forces veterans, as their welfare needs are increasing as they age.

"We need ongoing donations because these veterans, as they grow older, need even more care from society."

"We cannot forget the contributions they have made to the country, as well as the long-term peace we enjoy. We are able to live and work in peace and contentment precisely because of their sacrifices. They deserve our gratitude."

Speaking about today's 7 km charity run, Wan Azizah thanked all parties, especially the business community and media professionals, for their strong support in helping raise public awareness and attention.

A total of 3,000 people from all walks of life participated in the charity run, an event aimed at raising funds for the Heroes Fund.

The Heroes Fund fundraising campaign is a key initiative launched by the government and the Department of Veterans Affairs (JHEV), aiming to collect welfare funds to assist needy veterans and their families.
