Confirmation of Unidentified Bright Lights in Sabah's Night Sky Science and Technology Ministry: No Suspected Space Objects Found Yet

(Kuala Lumpur, 7th) The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation has confirmed receiving preliminary reports regarding bright lights seen in Sabah's night sky on June 4 (Thursday). However, as of now, the ministry has not found any suspected space debris, such as rocket fragments.

The ministry released a statement saying that its Space Regulatory Group had received the report, but no suspected space objects were discovered on land or at sea. "The Space Regulatory Group is actively conducting monitoring work together with relevant agencies."

The ministry advises the public not to touch any suspicious objects and to immediately report them to the relevant authorities, call the 999 emergency hotline, or directly contact BPAngkasa (Tel: 03-8885 8685; Email: [email protected]).

In addition, the ministry urges the public not to speculate and to obtain accurate information through official channels. "Any further developments will be announced in due course."
