Climate records show that the frequency of thunderstorms is highest during the inter-monsoon season compared to other months, with an average of 21 rainy days in October and 22 days in November.
During this period, mornings are generally clear, while some scattered showers may occur along the coast by midday. Thunderstorms mainly affect the inland areas in the afternoon, spreading to the coastal and marine areas at night and sometimes persisting until the next morning. Wind speeds are generally light in the early morning and evening, with northwesterly winds prevailing in the evening, and overall sea conditions are slightly variable.
According to international climate centers, there is a 71% chance of a La Niña event in the Pacific from October to December 2025, which may bring wetter-than-usual weather and higher rainfall and activity than average.
Seasonal forecasts indicate that rainfall in October will be slightly higher than normal, ranging from 380 to 440mm; November will see 390 to 450mm; and December is expected to be within normal levels, at 290 to 430mm.
