Rumored Chinese Order to Halt Boeing Aircraft Deliveries, Trump Criticizes China for Reneging

Bloomberg News quoted informed sources reporting that China has asked its domestic airlines to suspend the reception of pending deliveries of American Boeing aircraft and to stop purchasing any aircraft-related parts and equipment from American companies. U.S. President Trump criticized China on the 15th, saying it has reneged on its agreements.

He stated on the social media platform "Truth Social": "Interestingly, they just reneged on a major agreement with Boeing, stating they will not receive aircraft that were fully committed (to be purchased)."

However, Trump did not disclose more details about the Boeing agreement mentioned.

The report also pointed out that with the imposition of high tariffs between the U.S. and China, the costs for Chinese airlines to lease Boeing aircraft will significantly rise. Thus, Chinese authorities are studying response plans, including providing assistance to airlines leasing Boeing aircraft.

Sources said the order was issued after China announced a counter-tariff of 125% on U.S. goods on the 11th. Such a tax rate will cause the cost of American-made aircraft and parts to skyrocket by more than double, making it impossible for Chinese airlines to purchase Boeing aircraft.
