(Bandar Seri Begawan, 15th) Teng Yun Temple in Brunei hosted a charity dinner last night at the banquet hall of the Manggis Hua Ho Complex, donating a total of BND 54,400 to multiple organizations, demonstrating social care and charitable spirit through concrete actions.
Brunei's Member of Parliament Liu Xiaode was invited to attend as the guest of honor. The esteemed guests included the Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Xiao Jianguo, the Pengiran of Brunei-Muara District Muhammad Amir Mubara, and many distinguished societal figures.
The guests attending the dinner also included directors and principals of various Chinese schools, honorary advisers, advisors, and council members of Teng Yun Temple, creating a lively scene.
Representatives from several organizations attended the event to receive donations, including the Crown Prince's Orphan Fund, the Brunei National Welfare Institution Foundation, the National Orphans Fund from four districts, the Eshan Center, the Seria Old Folks Home, eight Chinese schools and St. Andrew's School, the Brunei Chinese Charity Association, and the Brunei Chung Hwa Middle School student scholarship fund.
Additionally, the chairman of Teng Yun Temple, Li Yongzhen, also made generous donations in his personal capacity, donating BND 2,000 to the Eshan Center and BND 2,700 towards the Chung Hwa Middle School student scholarship fund, showcasing his firm support for charitable and educational endeavors.
During the banquet ceremony, the guest of honor, MP Liu Xiaode, accompanied by Chairman Li Yongzhen and Deputy Chairman Cheng Yongming, presented mock cheques to representatives of the beneficiary charities and schools. Subsequently, Li Yongzhen also presented a souvenir to Liu Xiaode on behalf of Teng Yun Temple, expressing gratitude.
