From the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean: U.S. Military Intercepts an Oil Tanker

The U.S. Department of Defense stated on the 9th that the U.S. military intercepted an oil tanker in the Indian Ocean and boarded it for inspection.

The Pentagon said that the oil tanker, named “Aquila II,” violated the blockade order issued by President Trump in the Caribbean Seas against sanctioned vessels. After discovering the violation, the U.S. tracked the ship from the Caribbean all the way to the Indian Ocean.

The Pentagon told AFP that the U.S. military has detained the oil tanker.

According to a ship tracking and data analysis website, the “Aquila II” is an oil tanker registered under the Panamanian flag.

In December 2025, Trump ordered a comprehensive and thorough blockade on all U.S.-sanctioned oil tankers entering or exiting Venezuela.

U.S. Military Kills 2 Drug Traffickers in the Pacific

The U.S. Southern Command posted on social media on the 9th that it carried out a deadly strike on a drug trafficking vessel in the Eastern Pacific, killing two people on board and leaving one survivor.

The U.S. Southern Command stated that the U.S. “Southern Spear” Joint Task Force carried out a deadly strike against a vessel operated by a “terrorist organization.” Intelligence indicated that this vessel was sailing along a known drug trafficking route in the Eastern Pacific and engaged in drug smuggling activities.
