Recently, a bulletin issued by the Intermediate People's Court of Yangquan City in Shanxi Province, China, has attracted attention with the content stating, 'A post-95s woman in Shanxi was executed for killing a neighbor.'
The Intermediate People's Court of Yangquan City in Shanxi Province confirmed that the bulletin was indeed issued by the court. A woman born in 1997, surnamed Sun, wanted to achieve the goal of being sentenced to death by committing a crime. She purchased a machete online and killed her 68-year-old mobility-impaired neighbor, ultimately leading to her execution.
According to circulating pictures online, the Intermediate People's Court of Yangquan City in Shanxi Province released the bulletin on March 25, stating that intentional murderer Sun was executed.
The bulletin shows that intentional murderer Sun, female, Han ethnicity, born on December 15, 1997, possesses a high school education and is from the suburban district of Yangquan City, Shanxi Province. She was arrested on October 12, 2021, formerly unemployed. The criminal Sun and the victim, 68-year-old Pan, were neighbors.
After Sun conceived the idea of being sentenced to death through crime, on September 18, 2021, she used her father's phone to purchase a machete online. On September 27, Sun chose the mobility-impaired Pan as the target of her crime.
At 6:30 PM that day, within the five-story building where she lived, Sun took advantage of Pan's unpreparedness and used the machete to repeatedly strike Pan’s head and neck, causing Pan to suffer brain injuries and die despite resuscitation attempts.
The court sentenced intentional murderer Sun to death and deprived her of political rights for life. After the first trial verdict, Sun did not file an appeal.
Upon second-instance review by the Higher People's Court of Shanxi Province, the decision to uphold the court’s verdict on Sun was made and was submitted to the Supreme People's Court for approval, sentencing her to death and depriving her of political rights for life.
