(Miri, 16th) In conjunction with the Gawai Festival, the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) Pujut Branch held the 'Gawai Festival Dinner' last night at the Eastwood Golf Club's Eastwood Hall. The atmosphere was lively, with a gathering of guests reflecting the multicultural harmony and unity of the Pujut community.

Miri Mayor and SUPP Pujut Branch Chairman, Adam Yii, in his speech at the dinner, expressed that this year's dinner was particularly meaningful as it was the first time it was held in a more formal and comfortable hotel venue. All residents of Pujut District gathered like a big family to celebrate the festival, fully demonstrating the close friendship and unity within the community.

He pointed out that the Harvest Festival is not just a celebration of harvest and achievements but also a moment to show gratitude, unity, and hope for a better future.

"These core values are the key reasons why Sarawak can continuously move forward and achieve outstanding results." He emphasized that under the visionary leadership of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government, Sarawak has achieved remarkable results in recent years in various fields such as economy, infrastructure, education, and digital areas. These achievements did not come out of nowhere but are attributed to the joint efforts of all Sarawakians, irrespective of race and religion.

"Sarawak succeeds because we have never been divided, nor shaken by divisive and destructive politics. Instead, we choose to live harmoniously, respecting and trusting each other. This spirit must continue to be passed on to the next generation."

He stated that these achievements are inseparable from the active cooperation and feedback of government departments, implementing agencies, community leaders, and residents. He committed, as the people's representative for N.74 Pujut, to continue advocating for more development resources and promoting more beneficial plans.

"I know there are still many tasks awaiting completion. Please believe that as long as I am in this position, I will continue to strive and serve Pujut to the fullest."

He also called on everyone to celebrate the festival with gratitude and family spirit, maintaining the habitual harmony and unity of the Dayak community and the people of Sarawak and laying a solid foundation for future generations and Sarawak's future.

Among the guests at the dinner were Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Sarawak, Datuk Dr. Penguang Manggil, Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department, Datuk Gerawat Gala, Sarawak State Assemblyman, Datuk Dennis Ngau, Miri Deputy Police District Chief, Superintendent Nur Ashyikin Abdullah, Sarawak Premier's Political Secretary, Hajis Japar, and Padang Samat, along with several community leaders.
