(U.S., 17th) – At the Group of Seven (G7) summit, Trump told reporters that it was a "major mistake" to kick Russia out of what was then the Group of Eight after the invasion of Crimea.
According to NBC, Trump standing next to Canadian Prime Minister Carney said he doesn’t believe a war between Russia and Ukraine would occur if Russia were still a member of the group.
Trump said, "You spend so much time talking about Russia, and he is not sitting at the negotiating table anymore, so it makes things more complicated."
Trump also said he doesn't mind China joining the G7.
