The Saudi-led coalition released a statement early on the 7th, saying that Yemen’s “Houthi Movement” launched an attack on the 6th, injuring 11 civilians in Najran Province, southern Saudi Arabia.
Coalition spokesman Maliki stated in the announcement that among the injured were 7 Saudi citizens, including a 4-year-old child; the remaining 4 were from Egypt, Yemen, and Pakistan.
Maliki condemned the “Houthi Movement” for violating international humanitarian law with this attack.
He added that the coalition would continue to take deterrent measures to respond to such attacks and to ensure civilian safety.
Attack on Yemeni Government Forces
According to a military source, the “Houthi Movement” launched missile and drone attacks on the 6th, resulting in at least 58 Yemeni government soldiers killed and dozens more injured.
This was the deadliest day in the country’s four-year civil war.
On the 6th, Yemen’s “Houthi Movement” said it had used ballistic missiles and drones to attack government troop assembly sites in Ma’rib and Hadhramaut provinces.
Houthi spokesman Saree made a televised statement saying that this operation destroyed numerous warehouses, armories, and military vehicles at the government troops’ gathering points, causing hundreds of casualties.
The statement added that the organization “is fully prepared to respond to any escalation.”
