Ella (Chen Jiahua) has recently kicked off her “It’s Me Ella’s Idea” concert tour, but now has fallen out with her former management over copyright issues. HIM International Music issued a statement regarding a report by 'Mirror Weekly', stating that for the S.H.E recordings used in Ella’s concert, "HIM International has not received any authorization application or payment from Ella’s concert organizers or management."
The report said Ella bought the lyrics and composition rights of 15 S.H.E songs from HIM, and during her concert in China, background music included the voices of Hebe and Selina, which deeply moved the fans. In response, HIM clarified that the lyric and composition rights involved in the concert must be obtained from the lyricists and composers or authorized via the collective rights management organization, with no need for separate confirmation from HIM. However, since S.H.E’s original recorded performances were recorded under HIM, the recording copyright belongs to HIM, and use of these recordings requires HIM’s authorization, but neither Ella nor the organizers have applied.
Additionally, Ella previously appeared as a guest at a Mayday concert in Wuhan to sing “Mayday”. After the footage was uploaded online, it was taken down for lack of lyric and composition authorization. Later, there were claims that Mayday spent 2 million RMB (about 1.16 million MYR) to resolve the copyright fees. HIM firmly stated: "The lyric authorization fee for the MV's upload was 15,000 TWD (about 1,921 MYR). Please do not spread misinformation."
