(Putrajaya, 14th) The Ministry of Finance announced yesterday that the government's BUDI MADANI RON95 (referred to as BUDI95) targeted fuel subsidy system has now been extended to users of Sarawak-registered vessels, while also increasing the fuel subsidy limit for full-time e-hailing drivers to 600 liters per month, in order to further strengthen the government's targeted subsidy scheme.
The Ministry of Finance stated in a press release that this measure is part of the gradual optimization plan for BUDI95, aiming to ensure that more citizens can fully benefit.
According to Ministry data, the extension to Sarawak will cover over 1,400 private boat users already registered with the Sarawak Rivers Board and relevant state government agencies.
"As for the full-time e-hailing driver category, the Ministry has conducted data cross-matching with the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) and confirmed that more than 53,900 drivers are eligible. Their fuel subsidy limit will be increased to 600 liters per month," the statement added.
In addition, more than 11,400 new or renewed driving license holders are now eligible to receive the BUDI95 subsidy, bringing the total nationwide number of beneficiaries to over 16 million Malaysian citizens.
"The Unity Government (MADANI Government) will continue to ensure the program is implemented smoothly, transparently, and benefits the people directly. The Ministry of Finance will keep monitoring progress in collaboration with relevant agencies and make improvements when necessary," the statement added.
