Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated on the morning of the 29th that after the ceasefire took effect at midnight on the 28th, the situation at the Cambodia-Thailand border has eased.
He said on social media: "In accordance with the spirit of the agreement reached between Cambodia and Thailand at the special meeting in Malaysia, the ceasefire came into effect at midnight on the 28th, and the frontline situation has eased. Prompt cessation of hostilities also allows affected civilians, such as evacuees, to return home and restore normal life as soon as possible."
Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen posted on social media in the early morning of the 29th, stating: "The ceasefire and peace agreement are achieving positive and effective results."
