Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar announced that Thailand and Cambodia will implement an unconditional ceasefire starting from midnight on Monday (28th).
After the meeting mediating the two countries’ border conflict, Anwar said: “Cambodia and Thailand have reached the following consensus: starting from local time 24:00 midnight on July 28, 2025, that is, tonight, an immediate unconditional ceasefire will take effect.”
The peace talks chaired by Anwar took place in Putrajaya at around 3:15 p.m. on Monday (July 28), attended by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Thailand’s Acting Prime Minister Puttan.
The meeting also invited U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia, Edgard Kagan, and Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia, Ouyang Yujing. The U.S. served as a co-organizer for the meeting, with China as an observer.
