The Kuomintang and the People's Party held an 'Anti-Green Alliance, Fight Dictatorship' rally on Ketagalan Boulevard in Taipei on the afternoon of the 26th. The organizers claimed that over 250,000 people shouted in front of the Presidential Office demanding 'President Lai Ching-te step down'. Kuomintang Chairman Zhu Lilun stated that with only 24 days left until Lai Ching-te completes his first year in office, the nationwide recall of Lai Ching-te will begin after May 20. Besides initiating a recall in the Legislative Yuan, people across Taiwan should use their power to topple Lai Ching-te.
Fu Kun-chi, head of the Kuomintang Legislative Caucus, later announced they would propose a recall motion.
Former President Ma Ying-jeou, Legislative Yuan President and Vice-President Han Kuo-yu and Chiang Chi-chen, 14 heads of counties and cities governed by the Pan-Blue coalition, Kuomintang Legislators, city council speakers and councilors, and former National Taiwan University President Kuan Chung-ming were all present to give speeches. People's Party Chairman Huang Kuo-chang also led party-affiliated legislators and councilors to speak on stage.

Han Kuo-yu mentioned that there are three swords over Taiwan's head. The U.S. tariffs serve as a 'tariff sword', pressing down on 23 million people; China's military drills act as a 'military reunification sword', pressing against Taiwan's neck; the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) sets a global precedent by using national resources to recall opposition party legislators, a 'recall sword'.
Han Kuo-yu stated that recalling a legislator right after their election, what kind of ruling party does that? This isn't democratic politics, playing Mahjong just to get a 'clean suit', why not play for a 'mixed suit'?
Han Kuo-yu remarked that even seasoned DPP members like Chen Shui-bian, Annette Lu, and Frank Hsieh have called on the Lai administration to stop the 'mass recall', but Lai obstinately continues to erase Taiwan's democracy.
Han Kuo-yu said that when Lai Ching-te defines China as a 'foreign hostile force', don't forget that every Taiwanese has a 'peace dove' in their hand. When Lai Ching-te throws a 'hand grenade', don't forget that the vast majority of Taiwanese people wish to release the 'peace dove', peacefully coexist with the other side, and develop cross-strait relations.
During his speech, former National Taiwan University President Kuan Chung-ming stated that nearly a year into Lai's administration, it has been unwilling to accept the oversight of the legislative body, and the launch of the 'mass recall' is a move to completely eradicate opposing forces. The DPP administration's rampant arrests and prosecutions have brought Taiwan to a perilous moment.
At the same time, several civil groups held 'Anti-Dictatorship, Protect Livelihood' street speeches not far from Ketagalan Boulevard. Organizers stated that this event was also in support of the protest rally.
