Located within the Arctic Circle and famous for its Santa Claus Village, the city of Rovaniemi in Finland has recently been experiencing scorching weather with temperatures around 31°C. Many local residents are choosing to cool off and have fun by heading to relatively cooler areas such as the riverbanks.
According to CCTV News, residents of Rovaniemi said: “In the past few weeks, some friends and I were vacationing in southern Europe, and the weather there was very hot. We thought it would be cool as usual when we returned to Finland, but that was not the case. The weather here now is almost the same as in Southern Europe.”
The Finnish Meteorological Institute stated recently that many places in Finland have already seen temperatures surpassing 30°C.
In northern Finland, summer temperatures are usually around 20°C. While temperatures of 30°C are rare, they are becoming increasingly frequent.
