(Thailand, 14th) – A male university student in Thailand reportedly died after sustaining severe injuries from jumping off the 4th floor of a mall when he was caught allegedly filming up a woman's skirt.
According to Thai Headline News Agency, the incident happened on the night of the 12th at a well-known mall in Nonthaburi Province. The man was identified as 21-year-old Pongnabo. After falling, he lay in a pool of blood with a fractured right ankle. Mall staff immediately performed CPR and rushed him to the hospital, but he could not be saved.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the incident began when Pongnabo attempted to upskirt a woman. The victim shouted for help, prompting security personnel to arrive quickly and prepare to check his phone. Unexpectedly, the man lost control of his emotions and suddenly leaped from the fourth floor, shocking those present.
A senior local police officer stated that police received a report that a woman had been secretly filmed near the escalator on the 4th floor, and security subdued a man at the scene. The man, apparently terrified, became uncontrollable and threw away his satchel and iPad before jumping.
Pongnabo’s parents said that before the incident, their son had called his mother expressing deep regret. Criminal investigators said on-site examination indicated it was suicide; surveillance footage recorded the conversations and the jumping process in the 7 or 8 minutes before the incident. Police interviewed seven witnesses and examined the deceased’s iPad, discovering eight secretly filmed videos.
Police confirmed that the man did possess upskirt videos of women, including ones recorded at a subway station.
