【Namewee Drug Possession Case】Charge Amended and New Charge Added; Case Adjourned to March 5

There has been a new development in the drug possession case involving Malaysian singer Namewee. After the Deputy Public Prosecutor submitted the toxicology report, the prosecution not only amended the original charge but will also add a new charge.

The original charge, which accused Namewee of possessing "Ecstasy" has been amended to "methamphetamine". According to the original charge, he was accused of possessing 5.12 grams of suspected Ecstasy at about 4:30 pm on October 22, 2022, in a hotel room in Kuala Lumpur. After the amendment, the type of drug has been changed to methamphetamine.

The additional charge accuses Namewee of "illegally possessing erectile dysfunction medication".

Due to the addition of a new charge, the case has been postponed to March 5 for further mention in court.
