The 2026 Bangkok mayoral and city council, as well as Pattaya mayoral and city council elections, are scheduled to be held on June 28 (Sunday). The election commission has issued a reminder that in the period before and after the election, it is strictly forbidden to sell, supply, distribute, or host banquets providing any type of alcoholic beverage.
According to Thai media, relevant laws stipulate that within the jurisdictions of Bangkok and Pattaya, from 6:00 p.m. on the day before the election (June 27) until 6:00 p.m. on the election day (June 28), it is strictly prohibited for anyone within the election zone to sell, trade, distribute, or host banquets offering any kind of alcoholic drinks. Violators will face up to 6 months imprisonment, or a fine of up to 10,000 baht, or both.
The Office of the Election Commission urges all parties to strictly comply with the above regulations and work together to maintain election order.
