Qatari Prime Minister: Netanyahu 'Trying to Undermine Chances for Peace'

Published at Sep 11, 2025 04:11 pm
On the 10th, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed said in an interview with CNN that Israel's attack on Hamas leadership in Doha, the capital of Qatar, shows that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is 'trying to undermine any chance of achieving stability and peace.'

He reiterated that Israel’s move constitutes 'state terrorism.'

He accused this move of endangering the lives of those held in Gaza, saying, 'Netanyahu's actions yesterday have killed any hope for these people.'

He said Netanyahu has violated international law and must be held accountable.

He pointed out that, regarding the ceasefire negotiations over Gaza in the past few weeks, Netanyahu was 'just wasting our time.' The Qatari side will 're-evaluate' future participation in the ceasefire negotiations.

Mohammed said his meetings with Hamas leadership are 'well known,' and are part of Qatar’s mediating role in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

He said: 'Both the Israeli and American sides are well aware of this. There is nothing we are trying to hide. There is no reason to regard this as sheltering terrorism.'

On the 10th, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office issued a statement saying that Prime Minister Netanyahu delivered a speech on the 10th, pointing out that Israel on the 9th pursued the 'mastermind' behind the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, in Qatar. He accused Qatar of providing shelter for Palestinian militants and funding for Hamas leadership.

The statement said Netanyahu called on Qatar and all countries 'harboring terrorists,' stating, 'Either expel them, or bring them to justice'; if these countries do not do so, Israel will.
