(S City, 2nd) Sun De'an, President of the World Chinese Writers Association, stated: Today, I am filled with great joy and honor to be invited as a special guest at this National On-site Award Ceremony, joining everyone to witness this meaningful and glorious moment together.
Here, I would like to extend my sincere respect to the organizers for their meticulous preparations, and also express my warmest congratulations and thanks to all participants, guiding teachers, and parents.
He said that this year, the number of participants exceeded 5,000. This is not only an inspiring figure, but also demonstrates the power of culture. Calligraphy, as an important carrier of Chinese culture, has thrived for thousands of years. It is not only an art of writing, but also a process of cultivating the mind and character—a tempering of one’s soul and spirit. The fact that so many people enthusiastically participated and happily showcased their skills during the competition shows that Chinese culture remains vibrant, and that the charm of culture can transcend age, background, and ethnicity.
Sun De'an made these remarks yesterday morning at the national on-site Spring Couplet Calligraphy Competition Award Ceremony held at the grand hall of the Niugu Industrial Zone.
"What is even more touching is that the participants are not only Chinese students, but also include Malay students and Indian students, among others. Young people from different ethnicities come together because of calligraphy, and connect because of culture. This truly reflects the inclusiveness and cohesion of culture.
Calligraphy no longer belongs to just one ethnicity, but has become an art for all to appreciate and learn. This kind of cross-cultural participation is the best portrayal of our nation's social harmony and unity."
He said, "Students, your achievement today is the result of your effort and perseverance. Those who did not win awards are equally deserving of pride, because you have participated in the inheritance of culture. What calligraphy teaches us is not just writing, but patience, focus, and perseverance. These qualities will accompany you throughout your life and become an important foundation for future success."
"The continuation of culture requires the participation of each generation; the brilliance of culture needs the younger generation to carry the torch. I hope everyone will continue to love calligraphy, love art, and let art become a part of your life."
He concluded by wishing everyone good health and all the best! He also wished the students academic progress and a bright future!
