A horrifying sexual assault case recently occurred in Rome, Italy. A 32-year-old Colombian female tourist was kidnapped and held for 72 hours by five migrants, during which she was forced to take drugs, sexually assaulted in turn, repeatedly threatened with death, and had her phone and wallet taken. Five suspects have already been arrested.
According to various foreign media reports, the female tourist visited Rome alone on the 9th of this month and was dining at a restaurant near Termini Station on the night of the incident. As she was leaving, a stranger approached her to sell marijuana and lured her to walk with him for about an hour. Then, another man suddenly appeared, forcibly pushed her into a car, and drove her to an outlying area of Rome.
The woman was taken to an abandoned building where at least 22 illegal immigrants were hiding. During her captivity, she was forced to take drugs and suffered continuous sexual violence. The suspects repeatedly threatened to kill her. After three days, she finally found an opportunity to escape.
The woman, half-naked and unconscious, collapsed on a roadside sidewalk and was discovered by an Italian driver, who immediately took her to a nearby hospital. The hospital confirmed that her injuries were related to violent sexual assault and found drugs in her system, promptly notifying the police.
After police intervention, several departments launched a raid on the abandoned building and found 22 people residing illegally, of whom 11 have been issued deportation orders and sent to a detention center.
With the victim's identification, the police arrested five men, including two Nigerians and three migrants from Africa.
An ongoing investigation has revealed at least three more people suspected of involvement, including the man who initially lured the victim from the restaurant, the driver, and the owner of the building providing the hideout.
