(Thailand, 28th) Thai police have arrested a middle-aged Australian man after discovering the body of a local teenage girl hidden in a suitcase.
According to AFP, the 46-year-old suspect was arrested yesterday (26th) at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport while he was attempting to purchase a ticket for a flight to Perth, Australia.
Earlier, police discovered a suitcase containing the girl's body by a railway in Pattaya, with obvious signs of violent assault.
Police launched an investigation and reviewed surveillance footage, which showed the suspect entering an apartment building in Pattaya together with the 17-year-old girl. Several hours later, he left carrying a large black suitcase, which he loaded onto the back of a motorcycle and took away.
Police stated that the suspect has been questioned and currently denies involvement in the girl's abduction and murder. As they are still awaiting autopsy results and other evidence, police have not formally charged him yet.
