(Kuching, 8th) The Sarawak government has identified the development model of Abu Dhabi's ports and airports to implement a similar model in Sarawak.

The Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari, stated that this includes analysis from the perspective of service and cost.

"This way, we can calculate the required costs and how to proceed with the development. As for the Abu Dhabi port, it is being implemented through collaboration between the private sector and the public sector. We see that the private sector is also assisting in the development of the port. In addition, we hope to find the best model to develop our aviation industry."

Premier Abang Johari made this statement to the media after visiting Zayed International Airport yesterday.

Earlier, he witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB) and Abu Dhabi Ports Group at Khalifa Port.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari also emphasized the importance of the advanced technology used at Zayed International Airport as a crucial aspect of the development model for similar technologies in Sarawak.

"We have already seen how Abu Dhabi has constructed such an advanced airport and adopted the latest technology, including a direct passenger flow system inside the airport. Moreover, from an architectural perspective, it is a building categorized under the Green Building Index, possessing all the components necessary for airport construction. We also need to look to the future, as Sarawak is still in a development stage, and we need to consider the changes occurring in the market."
