(Bandar Seri Begawan, 14th) Indera Motors yesterday organized a Ramadan charity event. This community aid program brought together Land Rover Defender and Range Rover owners, volunteers and partners to provide essential assistance to vulnerable groups during the holy month of Ramadan.
Approximately 30 participants joined the event, traveling in a fleet consisting of 12 customer vehicles from Indera Motors and 15 vehicles from partners, to deliver food and daily necessities to 49 individuals and 3 underprivileged families in Kampung Merangking and Kampung Sungai Mau, Belait District.
The event was held in collaboration with the Charitable Assistance and Charity Institutions Association, whose volunteers helped identify beneficiaries and coordinate on-site distributions. The project was carried out in three phases. In the first phase, held at the Merangking Primary School hall, 26 beneficiaries received essential supply packages. Afterwards, participants visited the three underprivileged families in Merangking village door-to-door, delivering more generous packages directly to their homes.
The final stop of the event was at the Sungai Mau village multipurpose hall, where another 23 beneficiaries received donated supplies. After that, participants gathered with community residents to enjoy a Ramadan meal together.
Mr. Yang, General Manager of Indera Motors, said in his welcoming speech that Ramadan is a reminder to be compassionate, generous, and to value helping those around us. He said: "Today’s event in Kampung Merangking and Kampung Sungai Mau is our way of sharing these values with the wider community, in a humble yet sincere manner."
This Ramadan charity initiative also marked the first time that Range Rover owners participated, joining Defender owners who have supported similar community events for many years. The car owners demonstrated that the automotive community not only gathers on the road, but can also unite to support meaningful social public welfare efforts together.
