(Bintangor, 17th) – The soil erosion problem occurring along the Sungai Stubah river section requires immediate action, as it could affect the safety of residents and road users.
Meradong constituency state assemblyman Dato Chen Kuan Hoon stated that the situation near Jalan Utama close to Rumah Imah and Rumah Buan cannot be ignored, as it also involves major access routes and other key infrastructure for residents in the area.
He hopes that the technical evaluation conducted by the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) can accelerate the identification of the extent of the damage and formulate proper action plans to resolve the relevant issues.
He said, “The evaluation results are crucial for the relevant agencies to formulate and carry out comprehensive and effective repair work.
“The proposed measures include riverbank restoration, reinforcement of the soil structure in the affected areas, as well as water flow management to reduce future erosion risks.” He made these remarks during an on-site visit yesterday.
The purpose of this visit was to gain a clearer understanding of the erosion situation and listen to preliminary explanations from technical departments about the factors causing the issue.
