(Miri, 10th) Miri Zhao'an Association President Lin Meiying stated that Fujian songs are not just music, but an important bridge for passing down hometown dialects and maintaining kinship. She hopes that by organizing the Fujian Golden Hits Male and Female Singing Competition, Fujian culture can continue to flourish and, through this, strengthen the ties between compatriots in Sibu, Sabah, and Brunei.
She made these remarks in her speech at the first "Sarawak Minister of Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin Doctor's Cup—Sarawak, Sabah, Brunei Fujian Golden Hits Male and Female Singing Competition" held on the 4th floor of the Boulevard Shopping Mall in Miri yesterday morning.
She pointed out that the purpose of holding this competition is not just to compete, but more importantly, to let everyone come together through Fujian songs and culture, so that Fujian culture can keep thriving, while also strengthening the bonds among people from Sarawak, Sabah, and Brunei.
Lin Meiying also expressed her gratitude to organizing committee chairperson Shen Yashi and all organizing members for their selfless dedication, as well as to the judging teachers for their hard work during the event.
