(City, 3rd) On October 2nd, on the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Cultural Academy of Jide Care Association successfully held the "Mid-Autumn Elegant Gathering" cultural event at the association’s clubhouse. Over fifty participants and their families gathered together, celebrating the festival amidst a strong cultural atmosphere enhanced by calligraphy works; the venue was filled with laughter and joy.

This event featured a rich and colorful program that combined cultural depth with interactive fun, complemented by a diverse range of foods for sharing. Many participants experienced for the first time how festival celebrations could be so infused with traditional culture.

Recitation of "Ode to Snow in the Garden"
The event began with a recitation performance. Mr. Qiu Ao performed "Ode to Snow in the Garden" with a resonant male voice, recreating the grandeur of this classic poem through precise control of tone and rhythm. The words “Scenery of the North” were delivered with steady strength, setting the majestic tone for the entire work; the lines “A thousand miles sealed in ice, ten thousand miles of drifting snow” were delivered expansively, conveying a vast sense of space; and “Mountains dance like silver serpents, plains gallop like wax elephants” were vividly alive, giving static landscapes a sense of vitality.

In the second part of the poem, the reciter used a composed tone to list historical figures. A subtle pause at “slightly less literary grace” and “a bit less poetic style” conveyed a deep sense of historic reflection. The ending “It’s all gone now” was long and detached, while “Count the true heroes, still look to today” was delivered with powerful force, pushing the atmosphere to a climax and showcasing the poem’s self-confidence in its era.

Origins and Legends of the Mid-Autumn Festival
Ms. Huang Daoyan hosted a session on “The Origins and Legends of the Mid-Autumn Festival,” where she delighted everyone with vivid retellings of the stories of Houyi shooting down the suns, Chang’e flying to the moon, and Emperor Xuanzong’s visit to the Moon Palace, adding a touch of romance to the festival.

Guqin Accompaniment and Singing “Prelude to the Water Melody”
Ms. Hu Ting brought a Guqin performance and led everyone in singing Su Shi’s masterpiece “Prelude to the Water Melody: When Will the Bright Moon Appear.” The ancient melodies fused with poetic lyrics, expressing wishes for reunion and happiness, further heightening the festive atmosphere.

Lantern Riddle Quiz
The unique “Lantern Riddle Quiz” segment was hosted by Member of Parliament Ms. Chong Ching Yee, who guided the activity with witty commentary and slides. Participants were eager to join in, making the scene lively and fun. Having a Member of Parliament host and present the awards became a major highlight encouraging active participation.

Handcrafted Lanterns
With materials and guidance provided by Ms. Huang Meiting, participants enthusiastically crafted lanterns by hand. Each lantern embodied hopes for light and reunion, carrying traditional memories as well as innovative ideas.

The event was also a feast of gourmet food and warmth. Participants brought a variety of festive dishes to share, creating a lively and cozy atmosphere. Ms. Pan Weifang provided prizes, and Mr. Huang Guozhan and Mr. Yang Zhensheng contributed gift vouchers, adding surprise and joy to the event.

The entire event was suffused with rich cultural flavor, inheriting outstanding traditional culture while strengthening the bonds among participants. It fully demonstrated the Jide Care Association Cultural Academy’s dedication to cultural dissemination and community cohesion. The event concluded successfully in peace and joy.
