Ryoko Yonekura Reportedly Breaks Up With Argentine Dancer Boyfriend—He Left Japan and Never Returned

50-year-old Japanese drama queen Ryoko Yonekura, who previously emerged unscathed from a drug case and was not prosecuted, has restarted her acting career. However, her romance has hit a dead end, as reports today reveal she has broken up with her Argentine dancer boyfriend. Last year, various illegal drugs and related paraphernalia were found during a search of the residence she shared with her boyfriend Gonzalo. Her urine test came back negative, confirming she did not use drugs herself, but her Argentine boyfriend has already left Japan. Since it was difficult to determine ownership of the drugs, and due to insufficient evidence, she was not prosecuted. According to Japanese media, since her boyfriend left Japan last year, he has lost contact with her and seems to have no intention of returning. She no longer wants to worry about him and has completely broken up with him.

Although Ryoko Yonekura was not prosecuted, people in the Japanese entertainment industry remain pessimistic, believing that terrestrial TV stations and advertisers may lose confidence in her and hesitate to cast her in leading roles. However, recently there’s been good news: the finale of her signature work, the movie "Doctor X: Final," will be aired on a terrestrial TV station, which has made her very excited.

Industry insiders analyze that Asahi TV's president, Akihiro Hayakawa, can be considered a benefactor to Ryoko Yonekura. The two used to have regular dinners together. Previously, the poster for "Doctor X: Final" was taken down, and there were rumors that the president's attention had shifted to Yuki Amami’s "Queen's Interrogation Room." But in the end, they still chose to air "Doctor X: Final," which for Ryoko Yonekura signifies a big step toward returning to terrestrial television.
