(Bandar Seri Begawan, 20th) The 2025 Tai Ke Ball Middle School Challenger Cup successfully concluded yesterday in the multifunction hall of the Sultan Complex located in Barrakes.
This competition featured the men's singles event and brought together young athletes from six middle schools nationwide. The event aimed to encourage youth participation in the emerging sport of Tai Ke Ball and received support from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports as well as the Ministry of Education (through the Co-Curricular Education Department).
The guest of honor was Sukardi, a senior education officer and the head of the Sports and Recreation Section of the Co-Curricular Education Directorate. He attended the event, witnessed the third-place playoff and the final match, and then co-hosted the award ceremony with Shukri, the President of the Brunei Billiards Association.
In the final, Hannes performed excellently against Aminul from Sugan School, winning straight sets with scores of 12-6 and 12-7. The third-place match featured a face-off between Ruliz Mawai from Katok and Azri from Sugan School. Ruliz Mawai displayed strong performance, convincingly winning both sets with scores of 12-3 and 12. The schools that participated included Sekolah Menengah Katok, Sekolah Menengah Pengiran Isteri Hajah Mariam, Sekolah Menengah Pengiran Jaya Negara Haji Abu Bakar, Sekolah Menengah Rimba, Sekolah Sukan, and Sekolah Menengah Pehin Dato Seri Maharaja.
