(Bandar Seri Begawan, 20th) Members of the Brunei Chinese Middle School board, along with the administrative leadership, recently hosted a luncheon to warmly welcome the delegation from the Nanjing Municipal People's Government, who were visiting Brunei to engage in multilateral exchanges.
On the afternoon of the 17th, the school's board and administration held a luncheon at the Mulia Hotel to entertain the visiting Vice Mayor of Nanjing and member of the Nanjing Municipal Standing Committee, Ms. Huo Huiping, along with the delegation members. The six accompanying members were: Deputy Secretary-General of the Nanjing Municipal People's Government, Mr. Chen Youming; Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Ms. Fan Huijuan; Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, Ms. Sun Man; Standing Committee Member of the Yuhuatai District Committee and Executive Deputy District Head, Mr. Zhang Jianshe; Director of the Enterprise Reform Department of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Mr. Zhang Yi; and Grade 1 Director at the Foreign Affairs Office, Ms. Bu Lei.
The event held by the Brunei Chinese Middle School was not only a sincere response to the warm reception they received in Nanjing in March of this year, but also a continuation and elevation of the friendship between the two regions. Attending the reception luncheon from the school were Board Supervisor Dr. Yang Juzhuang, Deputy Board Supervisor Mr. Liao Tianshun, Principal Ms. Xu Yuelan, and Vice Principal Mr. Ma Haiyao.
It is reported that from March 19th to 26th this year, the school's administrative team, led by Board Chair Mr. Yang Dezheng, made a one-week visit to eight schools in Nanjing and Nantong in Jiangsu Province. They deeply experienced the profound heritage and modern vitality of Nanjing, a city rich in history and culture, and received detailed arrangements and warm hospitality from the Nanjing Municipal People's Government Foreign Affairs Office and Nanjing Municipal Education Bureau.
During the luncheon, the Brunei Chinese Middle School expressed their plans to send another team of teachers to Nanjing in September to learn from Nanjing's invaluable experiences in smart campus construction and the integration of artificial intelligence in education. The focus will be on investigating intelligent teaching systems, AI management platforms, and digital curriculum development, all aimed at advancing the school's transformation toward an "intelligent AI campus."
Furthermore, the school hopes that Nanjing will consider dispatching outstanding teachers to assist in teaching, bringing Nanjing's advanced teaching concepts, intelligent education technologies, and rich practical classroom experience to Brunei. This would not only further deepen educational cooperation between the two regions but also provide the school’s teachers and students with more direct learning opportunities, promoting the sharing and exchange of educational resources.
During the banquet, the guests and hosts had an enjoyable conversation in a harmonious atmosphere, concluding with the exchange of souvenirs and a group photo.
