(Seria, 21st) In line with the nationwide synchronized prayer activities across government and private schools, and following the Private Education Section of the Ministry of Education’s memorandum, Chung Cheng School, Seria held a "Prayer Ceremony" at 8:00am on January 19, 2026 (Monday), specifically praying for the health and well-being of His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei.
This prayer event required the participation of all Muslim staff and students, covering Muslim students from Year 5 to Year 11—a total of 200 students and 30 Muslim staff members—who gathered under the leadership of religious teacher Fali at the Jubilee Hall of the secondary division to collectively pray for His Majesty the Sultan. Non-Muslim students also participated in another way to express their wishes for the Sultan’s good health. Students spent an hour making cards filled with words of blessing.
Principal Jia Renyou of Chung Cheng School expressed gratitude for the cooperation and support from all parties, which ensured the smooth running of the prayer ceremony. He also hoped blessings would be bestowed upon the event, and sincerely thanked all staff, students, and parents for their participation. This nationwide synchronized religious prayer activity aims to seek health and peace for the monarch and citizens through collective recitation and prayer, and demonstrates Brunei society’s spirit of unity and devout well-wishing.
