After Concluding US-Iran Talks, US Middle East Envoy Inspects USS Lincoln

(US, 8th) — After holding negotiations with Iran in Oman on the 6th, US Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs, Wiktorov, and President Trump's son-in-law Kushner boarded the aircraft carrier "USS Lincoln" currently deployed in the Middle East the next day.

Wiktorov stated on social media platform X that he, Kushner, and Central Command Commander Cooper met with sailors and marines of the Lincoln, its strike group, and the 9th Carrier Air Wing. They are safeguarding America's security and upholding Trump's message of achieving peace through strength. The three expressed their gratitude to the sailors and marines, observed flight operations, and spoke with the pilot who shot down an Iranian drone in the Arabian Sea last Tuesday (the 3rd). Wiktorov conveyed his pride in standing alongside those defending America's interests, deterring adversaries, and demonstrating the nation's readiness and resolve to the world.

A senior US official revealed that Wiktorov and Kushner visited the Lincoln at Cooper's invitation, with the purpose of thanking the US forces stationed in the region.

Meanwhile, on the 7th, Iranian Foreign Minister Aragchi stated that Iran has two "red lines" in the US-Iran negotiations: Iran will not give up uranium enrichment, nor will it negotiate on its own missile program.

In a media interview, Aragchi said the US-Iran talks were a good start, but there is still a long way to go in building mutual trust. The Iranian nuclear issue can only be resolved through negotiation. At present, no specific date has been set for the new round of US-Iran negotiations, but both sides believe talks should be held as soon as possible.
