(Brunei Times, 13th) Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defense Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Halbi attended the 2025 Indonesian Defense Expo and Forum held from June 11 to 14, 2025, at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) in the Kemayoran area, Indonesia.
The opening ceremony of the Indonesian Defense Expo and Forum was presided over by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, marking the official launch of one of Southeast Asia's largest defense exhibitions.
The Indonesian Defense Expo and Forum, held every two years, is a defense technology and industrial exhibition showcasing various cutting-edge military products and advanced technologies in major fields such as land, aerospace, marine, and security.
This year's exhibition is held concurrently with the Indonesian Aerospace Expo and Forum and Indonesian Maritime 2025 Expo and Forum, bringing together about 1,180 defense companies from 42 countries, featuring 32 national pavilions, and attracting 37,000 delegates and professional visitors.
The theme of this exhibition is "Defense Partnerships for Global Peace and Stability," aiming to promote defense diplomacy, enhance dialogue, and strengthen cooperation. The Brunei minister also took this opportunity to engage with ASEAN member countries and other international partners participating in the expo.
The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defense Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Halbi also held a bilateral meeting with the Indonesian Minister of Defense, Retired Lieutenant General Prabowo Subianto, congratulating him on the successful hosting of the Indonesian Defense Expo and Forum, and discussing strategic and regional issues of mutual concern. Both ministers emphasized the long-standing defense relations between the two countries and reiterated their commitment to further strengthening defense cooperation.
The Indonesian Defense Expo and Forum also held international seminars, technical product displays, live demonstrations, and networking opportunities designed to enhance collaboration among global defense leaders and industry experts.
