(Kuching, 3rd) Yayasan Hasanah, under Khazanah Nasional Bhd, is currently implementing a total of 43 projects in Sarawak, with a combined value of RM38 million.
The progress was reported on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the Hasanah Foundation delegation to Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari at the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly building. The delegation was led by Hasanah Foundation Chairman Tan Sri Mohd Noh Yusof, accompanied by trustee Datuk Amirul Feisal and trustee-cum-managing director Siti Kamariah.
According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit, Siti Kamariah said: "We currently have 43 ongoing and implemented projects in Sarawak, with a total value of RM38 million, covering education, environment, public spaces, the arts, as well as our research project on Sarawak rice, an area with very high development potential."
She pointed out that all 43 programs are carried out in cooperation with 39 local non-governmental organizations (NGOs), with active participation from Anak Jati Sarawak (local Sarawakians).
During the meeting, the delegation also reported to the Premier on the "Khazanah ACE² Heritage Textile Fellowship," a program in collaboration with the Sarawak Centre for Technical Excellence (CENTEXS). Participants are currently receiving training in Turkey under the "Textile Scholarship Program" to learn how to promote the works of Sarawak artisans, which also have great potential to enter the international market.
Siti Kamariah added that the Hasanah Foundation hopes to further expand its cooperation with the Sarawak government in the future, especially to deepen collaboration in areas related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
