Taiwanese director Hsieh Sheng-hong, who had previously garnered attention for his documentary works, has been accused by his ex-girlfriend of secretly filming intimate footage, causing a stir in the film and television industry. The ex-girlfriend said she initially believed Hsieh Sheng-hong had deleted all such footage, but during a confrontation, a folder suddenly popped up on Hsieh's laptop, which still contained what she considered private images. She froze and broke down, exclaiming: “You lied to me back then and said you deleted them.” Fearing the images might leak, she immediately reported the incident to the police.

According to Mirror Weekly, the ex-girlfriend only wanted to confirm whether the images were really deleted. She repeatedly asked: “Did you actually delete the photos? What if the laptop gets repaired or hacked? I never consented to those nude photos.” At first, Hsieh simply replied: “I can't find them, I really can't find them.” However, while operating his laptop, a folder named “找室友” (Recruiting Roommate) suddenly popped up. He shouted, “Found them, I’ll delete you, I'm deleting you.” After witnessing the contents, the ex-girlfriend broke down and angrily shouted, “You lied to me back then and said you deleted them.” She further pressed if there were other backups, to which Hsieh hastily replied, “I'll delete them in front of you right now, is that okay?” However, she stated that she never consented to being filmed nude, reiterating: “I kept refusing, yet you held onto them.”

Additionally, a film critic later confessed to the ex-girlfriend that they had slept with Hsieh while he was still in a relationship with his then-girlfriend, raising suspicions of infidelity on top of the secret filming allegations. Facing public scrutiny, Hsieh denied any secret filming or illegal behavior, stating the footage was personal photos taken during the relationship, and questioned his ex-girlfriend’s motives. He emphasized that he is willing to cooperate with judicial clarification.
