The classic Hong Kong Lunar New Year film It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World will have a Malaysian remake next year, titled It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World “Lai”. Prudence Liew, who played the character “Lai Dei” in the original, will be returning in the new film. As for the three sisters in the story, director Clifton Ko is currently considering Malaysian goddess Min Chen Lin and Jiekie Wong, who have long been noted for their resemblance, and is also in contact with Prudence Liew’s daughter Hui Yirong for a role, which may lead to a real-life mother-daughter on screen!
Clifton Ko mentioned in a recent interview that the script is nearly complete and, as for casting, Prudence Liew is confirmed to participate.
