(Miri, 19th) Jointly organized by the service center of Miri Member of Parliament, Chiew Choon Man, and L&P Education Counseling Center, the "SPM Score A+ Answering Skills Workshop and Miri Education Counseling Fair" took place grandly this morning on the fifth floor of the Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club Miri, attracting numerous current SPM candidates and parents. The event aimed to help students master efficient exam techniques and obtain the latest education information to lay a solid foundation for their future development.
Alan Ling Sie Kiong, the organizing committee chairman, pointed out that the event was divided into two main segments — the morning featured the SPM Answering Skills Workshop, where several experienced lecturers systematically explained the answer strategies for various subjects; the afternoon was reserved for the Education Counseling Fair, inviting many local and overseas higher education institutions, professional training organizations, and education consultants to set up booths to provide one-on-one counseling services for students and parents. This helped them clarify their education paths and career plans.
In his speech, Alan Ling Sie Kiong mentioned that the Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Dr. Noraini Ahmad, pointed out earlier this year that from 2020 to 2023, more than 500,000 students nationwide who completed their SPM exams did not pursue further education. He expressed high concern over this issue and called for all sectors of society to seriously address the educational gap issue and work together to build a more comprehensive learning and education support system for young students.
He also thanked MP Chiew Choon Man for his continued focus on the educational development in Miri and expressed sincere gratitude to all participating units, lecturer teams, and volunteers. He hopes to continue organizing more such activities in the future to provide more comprehensive resources and support for students.
"This event not only helps students improve their exam-taking abilities but more importantly, it inspires them to imagine and plan for their future. We wish all current candidates success in their exams and encourage them to boldly pursue their dreams and achieve higher academic and life goals."
Miri MP Chiew Choon Man arrived at the venue around noon, presided over the opening ceremony of the education fair accompanied by members of the organizing committee, and toured the exhibition area, engaging in warm exchanges with representatives of various institutions and education consultants to learn about the courses and education information they provide for local students.
