(Brunei, 4th) Co-hosted by the Brunei Fuzhou Ten Districts Association and the Kuala Belait Fuzhou Association, the 7th All Brunei Primary School Chinese Creative Writing Competition 2025 is scheduled to commence at 9 am on the 13th of this month, simultaneously across five centers in Brunei. The event aims to promote Chinese culture, inspire Bruneian youths' interest and passion in Chinese writing, and further the popularization and development of Chinese education locally.
Dr. Liu Shiquan, President of the Brunei Fuzhou Ten Districts Association, mentioned that this year's competition has received enthusiastic responses and participation from seven schools in Brunei, with a record-breaking 417 primary students signing up. Among them, 218 are of Chinese descent, and 199 are non-Chinese. This indicates that Bruneian youths are demonstrating a keen love and pursuit of Chinese creative writing.
The organizers also expressed that this competition is not only a feast of Chinese creativity but also a platform to promote cultural exchange and learning among the youths in Brunei. They hope that through such events, more young people will be inspired to take an interest in the Chinese language, making Chinese a bridge connecting Brunei and Chinese culture, jointly inheriting and promoting the excellent Chinese traditional culture.
As of today, the number of participants registered is as follows: 105 students from Brunei Chung Hwa Middle School, 27 from Brunei Tutong Chung Hwa School, 8 from Kiudang Chung Hwa School, 2 from St. Andrew's School, 219 from Kuala Belait Chung Ching Middle School, 50 from Seria Chung Ching Middle School, and 6 from St. John’s School, Kuala Belait.
As the competition date approaches, participants are fervently making final preparations, eager to showcase their talents in the contest. We wish the 7th All Brunei Chinese Creative Writing Competition a great success and look forward to seeing more outstanding Chinese works.
