Israeli media reported on the 24th that 12 US Air Force F-22 "Raptor" stealth fighter jets took off from the Royal Air Force Lakenheath base in the UK on the same day. Except for one which returned to base due to technical failure, the remaining 11 arrived later at an air force base in southern Israel.
The reports stated that this type of fighter jet can perform multiple tasks, including penetrating enemy airspace, destroying air defense systems, and radar. This move by the US is likely a preparation for Israel to respond to potential missile attacks from Iran.
The Israeli and US militaries are maintaining "close coordination," preparing for a potential breakdown in negotiations between the US and Iran.
Iranian Revolutionary Guard Holds Military Exercise in the South
In addition, Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported on the 24th that the ground forces of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps held military exercises in southern Iran, testing new technologies and multi-layered firepower deployment, aiming to safeguard the security of Iran’s southern coastal areas.
The report stated that the exercise took place in southern Iran and the Persian Gulf islands, and one of its features was the use of new weapons for precision fire strikes, combined with modern technology to implement joint tactics at different levels.
Against the backdrop of the US continuously increasing its military threat against Iran, the Iranian armed forces held live-fire exercises in the Strait of Hormuz from the 16th to the 17th.
