KUCHING, Sept 3: The 4th Petroleum Advisory Coordination Committee (PACC) Meeting yesterday reinforced collaboration between Sarawak and Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS) to enhance governance and ensure sustainable management of the State’s oil and gas resources.
Chaired by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who is also Minister for International Trade, Industry, and Investment and Second Minister for Natural Resources and Urban Development, the meeting provided a strategic platform to review, coordinate, and align key petroleum-related matters.
It highlighted the importance of PETROS’ role as the one-stop centre overseeing technical, commercial, planning, and execution functions for Sarawak’s oil and gas industry, according to a press release.
The committee also emphasised the need for sustainable development and industrial growth, with PACC continuing as a key platform to align the State’s oil and gas agenda with long-term socio-economic aspirations.
