BINTULU: Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni is not merely the theme of this year’s National Day celebration, but a reflection of the federal government and Sarawak government’s determination to ensure that every segment of society benefits from development without anyone being left behind.
Jepak assemblyman Iskandar Turkee said the MADANI concept, which is based on progressive thinking, social integration that respects diversity, and inclusive economic development, is in line with the aspirations of Sarawak Maju Makmur 2030.
“Rakyat Disantuni means that no community is left behind. For Sarawak, it also ensures that the state’s autonomy rights are preserved while improving the quality of life for people at all levels,” he said.
He said this when officiating at the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) 2025 programme at the compound of Wisma Kontena, Bintulu Port, here on Friday.
He said that the close cooperation between the Sarawak government and the federal government has produced various strategic initiatives, including special assistance for rural communities, quality education with modern infrastructure, and comprehensive healthcare systems reaching even the most remote areas.
Iskandar also called on Sarawakians, in particular, to support the 1 Rumah 1 Jalur Gemilang campaign as a symbol of love and loyalty to the homeland.
“By flying the Jalur Gemilang at every home, we not only enliven the National Day atmosphere, but also strengthen the unity of Malaysians and embody the national spirit of appreciating the country’s independence,” he said.
He also emphasised that every individual must become a strong patriotic shield in preserving the peace and harmony of the nation, so that this priceless heritage can be passed down to future generations.
Iskandar also expressed his appreciation to all parties involved in making the programme a success, including Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad, government agencies, and volunteers who contributed their energy and ideas to ensure the success of this year’s event.
“This noble effort not only ensures the smooth running of the programme, but also further ignites the spirit of independence among the people,” he said.
Bintulu Port was the ninth stop for the KMJG 2025 convoy, led by deputy director of the Sarawak Information Department (JAPEN), Sri Kestury Mohammed Zamhari, after its journey from Lawas.
