Putin and Modi Embrace Warmly on First Post-Russia-Ukraine War Visit to India

Russian President Putin visited India from the 4th to 5th. His special plane landed at the Palam Air Force Base on the evening of the 4th, where Indian Prime Minister Modi personally came to welcome him, and the two even shared a warm embrace.

The Indian side held a welcome ceremony at the airport, and Modi greeted Putin at the foot of the aircraft stairs.

This is Putin's first visit to India since the Russia-Ukraine war broke out. On the 5th, he will attend the India-Russia summit, where they are expected to discuss topics such as defense and energy, and sign a series of cooperation documents and trade agreements.

On social media, Modi posted in both English and Russian, describing Putin as a friend and welcoming him to visit, also saying he looks forward to interacting and communicating with Putin. Modi further stated that the friendship between India and Russia has stood the test of time and benefits the people of both countries. Modi presented Putin with a copy of a Hindu scripture.

Earlier, Putin accepted an interview with Indian media, saying that Russia and India already have cooperation plans covering fields such as technology, space, and nuclear energy. The two countries are seeking to promote bilateral trade and expand the types of goods traded.
